We cannot accept any custom/special order cancellations after 24 hours of purchase. 

All sale/clearance items are non-refundable.

All payoffs must be cash, cashier’s check or credit card.

All cancellations are subject to 50% restocking fee.

Layaways are 90 days & 25% deposits are non-refundable.

Call 2 weeks before pick up.

Please do not lose your invoice, it is required to pick up merchandise.

Reupholstery Process & Terms

Houston Upholstery understands that reupholstering a timeless piece is not simply keeping a piece of furniture, it has sentimental value.  There are only two reasons to reupholster a piece.  Sentimental value and a good frame. 

Sentimental value is when you love a piece and it carries old memories with it and you cannot part with it.

Second reason you would reupholster furniture is because it has a “good frame”.  The frame would be made of strong hardwoods and very sturdy.  These strong frames can be redone many times and still look new.  Inexpensive frames normally will last one upholstery job and is not worth the investment.  Keep in mind reupholstering is time consuming and a skilled art where it can be expensive and may cost as much as a new piece.  Depending on the piece it can also save you money as well.  Additionally our professional upholsters can update the look of an old piece and give it a fresh new appearance for today’s current styles.

All patterns will be aligned and centered.  Stripes are standard vertically aligned unless directed otherwise. Many options like contrasting piping, nail heads, tufting, channeling and skirts are also available.  All pieces come standard with self piping unless otherwise notified by client. 

Houston Upholstery’s goal is to make sure the client is satisfied with workmanship and quality of their furniture piece.

When receiving a piece, our upholsterers remove all old fabric from the frame.  Not all professional upholstery companies do this step because it takes time and effort.  Once fabric has been removed the frame is inspected for cracks, wood rot, deterioration in webbing, foam replacements when needed, or broken springs.  It is up to our professional upholster to determine what repairs or replacements are required. The customer will be notified and repairs will be made upon approval of additional charges.  New batting/dacron will be replaced in order to give the piece a fresh new look and plump up areas where needed.  Fabric will be cut and patterned out to ensure all designs are aligned and matched correctly as well as inspect for fabric flaws or slubs. The final step is upholstering the new fabric onto the frame and doing a final inspection of the finished piece. 

All reupholstery quotes is for labor only.  All repairs, spring replacements, wood refinishing, wood restoring/cleaning, foam replacements or fabric are additional costs.

Expect and allow 2-4 weeks for reupholstery work.

Expect and allow 6-8 weeks for custom built furniture.

Any concerns on upholstery workmanship must be addressed within 7 days of receipt.

Customers own material (COM) are welcomed however, we are not responsible for any fabric defects/warranties.

Furniture/ fabric pieces left over 60 days will become property of Houston Upholstery.
